Experience: Mr. Hill has over 20 years of diversified experience
in programming, design, design development and construction document
preparation, in addition to construction administration and cost
estimating.
As President of HDA, Mr. Hill participates in all phases of the
project. This includes presentations, program development,
production of schematic design, design development and construction
documents as well as coordination of consultants and plan
distribution for bidding. Mr. Hill has extensive experience in
administering construction contracts from pre-construction to
closing documents and post occupancy. He personally handles seven to
ten projects simultaneously varying in size from $200,000 to $33
million and is ultimately responsible for all work produced at HDA.
Mr. Hill plays a key role in implementing quality assurance
measures at HDA, including program analysis, plan review,
establishing and maintaining production schedules as well as
coordinating site visits and observing construction for contract
compliance.
One of Mr. Hill’s strong areas of expertise include numerous
veterinary medical facilities throughout the areas east of the
Mississippi.
Mr. Hill has overseen several military projects for the Corps of
Engineers, Department of Defense, Departments of the Air Force and
the Army, as well as numerous non-profit organizations. He has
worked very successfully with many private developers on commercial
developments ranging from professional office space, retail,
churches, education facilities and industrial developments.
Prior to forming HDA ARCHITECTS, Mr. Hill worked as a project
architect responsible for developing numerous public buildings which
included community centers, health centers, senior centers and
recreational facilities, courthouses and city hall facilities. These
projects ranged in size and budget and accounted for new
developments, as well as renovations to existing facilities and
historic structures.
Professionally, Mr. Hill has lectured on the design process at
Southern Polytechnic State University and has conducted seminars at
the Georgia Convention of the American Institute of Architects. He
has also become a sought after speaker on veterinary hospital design
and has conducted numerous seminars at national and state veterinary
