In the fall of 2021, the leadership at the Huntsville Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Hospital (HVSE) realized they need more space and a better organized layout. They contacted us at HDA Architects as we started working with them to keep their organization growing and servicing the community of Huntsville.
The first thing was to organize the services they currently offered, and determine what other services could be provided. We studied their existing plan as well as the equipment they currently had. They were going to need heavy diagnostic equipment like MRI, CT scanner, Endoscopy, Sonography, Fluoroscopy and digital radiography. HVSE is a specialty practice offering orthopedic as well as soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, neurology, opthamology, dermatology, and oncology services.
In addition to the diagnostic equipment package they needed two additional surgery suites. Our team of designers and specialists, created a new plan for the HVSE facility with all the equipment they needed. We worked with equipment manufacturers and providers to make sure the facility needs were met. We phased the construction so HVSE could stay in operation during the refit of the hospital. We also provided additional boarding space, and exam rooms for the interaction with the public.
We worked closely with the General Contractor to make sure the new equipment was fully integrated into the various building systems, as well as maintaining a safe building for construction and for the public to enter.
